About us
DriveMastersplus was founded in 1997 by Don Hopkins. He has been on the roads his whole life, first teaching people to drive in the late 70s. He later moved into other vehicles and by the 80s was working for BP, invloved with huge petrol tankers. In recent years he decided he wanted to get back to his roots and first considered joining up one of the large driving organisations like BSM. However, he wanted to do things his own way and be allowed to focus more on the pupil’s needs. With over thirty years experience he decied to form his own driving school.
Starting off small with just a few pupils a week, he gained a repuation purely though word of mouth. As the early pupils realised what a great service they were getting, they told their friends who in turn told theirs and the business was a stagering sucess. Today, although a lot busier than 1997, Don still puts into practice the practices that lead to his popularity.
